Not really a big fan of J. R. R. Tolkien. Enjoyed the film adaptions of his work.
I visited www.16personalities.com and did their test the other day and this poem from Tolkien’s “The Lord of the Rings” novels was used to describe my personality.
“All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.
From the ashes a fire shall be woken,
A light from the shadows shall spring;
Renewed shall be the blade that was broken,
The crownless again shall be king.”
Now the website only used half the poem, and seeing the full text, the meaning with which they were using it for is lost a little, at least for me.
It is still a powerful poem and I have seen parts of it used in many inspirational signs and memes.
Are there any other Tolkien quotes you would recommend I become familiar with?
